About Paddy Road Publishing
Our Story
Paddy Road Publishing grew out of a simple need: to create a home for the many voices living in one writer’s imagination. What began as scattered notebooks and half-finished manuscripts evolved into something bigger—a publishing house dedicated to bringing authentic Australian stories to life.
The name itself carries meaning. Paddy Road is a real place in Brisbane, a street that winds through neighborhoods rich with character, history, and the kind of stories that don’t make it into mainstream publishing. It represents the heart of what we do: stories rooted in place, grounded in community, and told by voices that deserve to be heard.
Our Mission
To create a place where Australian content thrives.
We believe independent Australian voices matter. We believe working-class stories deserve literary respect. We believe that mystery, humor, urban fantasy, and non-fiction can coexist under one imprint. And we believe that readers are hungry for authentic, character-driven narratives that reflect the real Australia—not the sanitized version, but the messy, funny, dark, and beautiful one.
We write the stories that matter. The ones that reflect real Australia—messy, funny, dark, and beautiful
The Author Behind the Imprint
Mark came to writing late, but not to reading. A voracious reader since childhood, Mark spent decades absorbing stories—from Australian independent musicians whose lyrics told more truth than any novel, to authors who proved that literary fiction could be funny, dark, and deeply human.
The writing came later, inspired by those same sources: the 1990s Brisbane music scene, the characters in those songs, the places where ordinary people carried extraordinary stories. What started as a personal creative outlet became something that demanded to be shared.
Today, Mark writes across genres and formats—mystery, urban fantasy, comic fiction, and non-fiction—under multiple pen names. Each voice is distinct. Each story matters. And each one found its home at Paddy Road Publishing.
